A STORY OF GOD’S UNDYING LOVE

This episode of #myfaithjournal upholds the narrative of the availability of God’s love despite our heavy entrenchment in sin.

God used a dead phone to orchestrate our meeting.

It is 11 pm on that Wednesday night. I’m seated next to my sister who is enthusiastically telling me about someone she met at the location of a movie production whose story she felt I had to share. Shuffling between the contents on my phone screen and giving a listening ear, the latter being the most difficult. I tell her that I’m interested in it and she forwards his contact.

We schedule to meet on a Sunday for the interview. When Mr. Deminiyi signals and we exchange eye contact, he approaches me with a confident gait, Of athletic build, we stand eye-to-eye, his smile is warm, not too revealing of his personality and the greybeards indicate he would be advanced in age, he would be 40 In December. A sucker for shoes, his sneakers stand out for me.

We get seated, we skip the preliminaries and after I press record on my device, he blurts out his first words ‘I used to make secular music, and I got signed to two record labels but it never just worked out, I believe that was God’

I would watch him grow from being uptight to excited, he leans on the edge of his chair, he laughs merrily, he…
