Corona Stifling Creatives and their Coping Mechanisms
It’s the 31st of December 2019 and for those who are not big on church attendance and thrive on the school of thought that ‘God lives in you’ make it to church for what some call the ‘Watchnight’ or ‘Crossover’ service in a bid to commit the new year and start of a new decade into their creator’s hand.
The clock strikes 12am and it is such a mood in the church; People crying, some are straight faced stemming from indifference - they have seen other years, some rush out to call their loved ones, Others make videos and take selfies for social media, while some are making their exits for its time to go turn up!
The Pastor mounts the altar after the ruckus has subsided and he then recounts to the congregation what God has spoken to him about 2020 and how much of a year it would be for them.
Ecstatic is the demeanor of the church members, screaming Amen at the top of their lungs and ‘claiming’ their blessings.
But in all of these, no one would have ever imagined that a pandemic that would shake the world was eagerly waiting for us and what a year it has been!
It is no news that the world is plagued with the Corona Virus. A Virus that emanated from Wuhan, China and slowly has decapacitated the world leaving even the most experienced clueless.
