Counter-Culture, but make it for Christ.

So yesterday; 13th of February 2022, Nigerian Rapper Blaqbonez headlined his first concert for the year. This he did in counter-culture fashion.

From naming the concert a “Breaking the yoke of love” crusade to wearing a white suit with similar poses of the average Nigerian pastor for the fliers, to going on the streets of Lagos to do “evangelism” for his concert, to introducing his colleagues who would be performing as ‘ministers’ ‘deacons’ and ‘elder’ to having the concert on a Sunday and making the dress code “Sunday best”. The stage at Muri Okunola Park was his pulpit.

Blaqbonez has always had a maverick approach to promoting his music. But this was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back. The feedback on social media attested to the fact that this campaign was by far, one of his most successful.

A lot of people were outside for his crusade to meet with the God who breaks the yoke of love, and to be impacted by a wide array of anointed ministers and also get acquainted with a host of believers. The concert lasted till the early hours of this morning which happens to be Valentine’s Day. Very tactful.
