WHEN LAST DID YOU SMOKE A JOINT?

When last did you smoke a joint?

I’m not talking of the rolls of marijuana or cigars

Or the Benson & Hedges that put us on edge

Darkens our lungs and before long we’re gone

All black everything in the funeral of another carefree novice

Gone without a moment’s notice

Know this, that I

I’m talking of The H.S

When last did you get drunk?

I’m not talking of the red wine or the bottles of Star

That stops you from shining

Or the Magic Moments of un-magical moments when you’re robbed blindly

Or the Orijin of unoriginal sins

Or the White & Mackays or Andres that lead you astray

I’m not talking of the burning liquor

That feels like the flickering flames of hell as it goes down your throat

Please note

That I, I’m talking of The H.S

You know the problem with the church today?

It’s that the youths spend too much time being sober

Instead of being hungover

Instead of being intoxicated by the Word of God;

Staggering under the weight of the anointing

Speaking in tongues

Driving lives under the influence of The Holy Spirit

We go about with our eyes wide shut

Seeing things that are not there

Praying to things that cannot hear

Putting the stories of our hearts in the hands of fate

Instead of submitting it to The Author and The Finisher of our faith

It almost feels like a Zombie Apocalypse

When I see young people who are spiritually dead

If only we smoked often;

We’ll be healed of our glaucoma cause we’re spiritually blind

We say we are the head and not the tail, yet we fail

Still sitting in ignorance till we’re now - behind

If only we got drunk often and bottled our worries…
